Dora is working on beef ribs.

Beef bones are probably the most dense bones available and not too many dogs can actually consume them. So I only serve them if they are covered in plenty of meat. The dogs spend time chewing all the meat off of the bones, then I just pick up necked bones and throw them away. I don`t give my dogs any bare necked beef femur or soup bones as is. Those are known teeth breakers. It is really not worth it.A few dollars you spent on a soup bone can cost you hundreds if your dog will need to have broken tooth pulled out.I am trying to feed as close as possible to how carnivores eat out in the wild- whole prey animals. Since I don`t always have whole animals available I feed as many parts and organs from as many animals as I can find. The most popular items are lamb necks, pork head, shoulders and butts, whole chickens, whole rabbits(fur and all) , whole turkey, beef heart(the most affordable out of beef products), venison during hunting season.I usually trying to stay under $1 per pound of food I buy. In my area I have a co-op where all local rawfeeders buy food in bulk which helps alot with the cost. Of course I also always looking for sales at grocery stores or local farms.I spend, on average, $40 per month to feed two of my dogs.
