Zolla is now 6 years old and this will be her second and last litter. Two years ago she was bred to Ch.Starlight`s Exuberant Pices and produced a wonderful litter of 5 boys and a girl. You can see them under "puppies 2003" folder. Zolla's temperament is so good I hope that is a feature of all of her pups. She is perfectly reliable off leash and not dog aggressive. She is the ultimate people dog, loves children and adults, men and women. I also love that she is not a Velcro dog. She is always there when I need her but if I am busy she just lays quietly waiting until I have time for her. All of this makes her a wonderful companion dog. I don`t usually do a formal obedience training but I expect my dogs to behave in public and at home and they do. I finally took a formal obedience class with her when she was 3 years old. She did everything the instructor wanted us to do but I swear she was just rolling her eyes at me all the time. It was like she wanted to say, "you know I can do all this, what`s the point?" Zolla's absolute favorite thing to do is to go hiking. This is what she lives for! Running through the woods, pulling fallen leaves and sticks out of a creek. She can spend all day doing just that. She expects her daily walks in the woods no matter what the weather is like. Sometime while it is pouring rain or deep snow I regret making a habit out of it, but, hey, it keeps all of us in shape! Zolla was shown for a few months but never really liked it. Maybe because she was over a year old when she was first shown. At her second show she went Best of Breed under Judge Mr.Edd Bivin with 5 other dogs entered, then took Best of Opposite with the same amount of entrees. Then she was taking first places in her class but never made it to the winners. Oh well, what can I say, she is an outdoor girl! I decided it is not fair to keep dragging her around the ring against her wish so she retired. The girl I kept from Zolla`s first litter, Deenah, however, thoroughly enjoys the show ring and does well too!
